About the Initiative

Education is the basic right of all individuals, and inclusive education ensures that they get to practise it. Learnclusive equips people with education that helps them thrive in their respective communities with confidence, build healthy and wholesome relationships, excel at professional opportunities, and thus, build the lives they envision for themselves. 

The Genesis (with toddlers): Learnclusive came into inception in 2019 when pre-schools for kids aged between 2-6 years had shut down due to COVID-19 for indefinite periods. These toddlers were shunned to be within the walls of their pandemic-struck abodes with little hope of attending school soon. Learnclusive began with an urge to effectuate efficient and organized interventions to develop current learning methods into holistic curricula. The educational program has particularly been designed and developed to provide educators, children, and parents of different demographics with alternative pedagogical strategies and tools. These pave the way for toddlers to achieve development goals critical to the growth of their intellectual vitality.

Expansion 1 (with rural women and girls): My frequent visits to poverty-striken villages in Varanasi and Buhana and numerous interactions with young girls and rural women transformed into a new vertical for Learnclusive: uplifting women to become financially independent. By making them proficient in skills like sewing, the full-fledged training programmes I run continue to encourage these women to not rely on government schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act or on incomes of male members of their family. Instead, they are guided towards finding jobs in nearby factories or starting their own mini-boutiques, a step towards taking ownership of their lives.

Expansion 2 (with farmers): Deliberating with local representatives sparked an urge to help farmers of these villages who were struggling with extremely low yields of crops and thereby, were earning sparse incomes. The state was such that they had started looking to empty themselves in unskilled jobs like being a welder, carpenter, electrician; some preferred to be unemployed. Our motto then became identifying problems faced by the local farmers via soil testing and inspections from agriculture experts, all to suggest farmers modern methods to obtain greater yields which help them earn higher, more sustainable incomes.
